Marina Proske has been with Fraunhofer IZM since 2011 and was chosen to head the »Life Cycle Modeling« group in the »Environmental & Reliability Engineering« department in 2023. Her area of expertise at the Institute is life cycle assessment (LCA) and the carbon footprints of electronic components, products, and systems. She also worked at the Technical University of Berlin as a research assistant on the research group »Obsolescence as a Challenge for Sustainability«.
She studied Technical Environmental Protection at the TU Berlin and wrote her doctoral thesis on the part obsolescence plays in environmental assessments for electronics.
