Sustainable Electronics: An approach to the development, manufacturing, and use of electronic products that takes into account their environmental impact throughout their entire life cycle. Energy efficiency, resource conservation, durability, repairability, and recyclability play a central role in this approach. At Fraunhofer IZM, methods such as life cycle assessments, carbon footprint analyses, and eco-design are used to evaluate and reduce the environmental impact of electronic systems.
