Chiplet: A chiplet is a functional building block of a semiconductor. Multiple chiplets can be connected to form a single system, rather than integrating all functions onto a single large chip. This allows electronic systems to be developed more flexibly, scaled more easily, and brought to market more quickly. Fraunhofer IZM is conducting research into modern integration and packaging technologies for this purpose.
